Joe Schmoe

Joe Schmoe

Joe Schmoe- On-Air weekdays from 9am-2pm-  Joe is a  16 year radio veteran and is our resident music connoisseur at 96 7 the Boss, that’s why Joe is a natural fit for “The On-Demand Listener Lunch”.  A daily feature where Joe opens the phone lines and turns 96 7 the Boss over to our listeners for requests.

The name “Joe Schmoe” is known around the world, but we’ve got him on ninety-six—seven, the Boss, weekdays from 9am to 2pm and is rightly proud of his part in bringing The Boss to life!  He’s a sixteen year veteran of the air who grew up with this music.  He not only knows his rock, he’s lived it!  Joe considers himself a connoisseur of fine music, including the Alan Parsons Project among many, which makes him the perfect fit for our “On-Demand Listener Lunch”, a daily feature on The Boss.  Joe opens the phone lines to you and digs out the classics you want to hear every weekday noon to one.

Dave Comstock

Dave Comstock

You’ve heard Dave Comstock on the Mid-Illinois air for more than thirty years, whether it’s been guiding stations in Jacksonville and Springfield, running his music show or producing spots that gab you by the ears and make you listen.  Now he’s guiding The Boss into the next generation of classic rock, playing the music we’ve been waiting to hear from 2 to 6 every weekday afternoon and giving us his own particular slant on what’s happening in today’s world.   The only thing that would make this die-hard Cub fan’s life complete would be…well, you know.

Hawk Daddy

Hawk-Daddy

The Hawk takes wing on The Boss evenings from six to ten.  Hawk-Daddy’s music taste is as eclectic as you’ll find, listening to everything from vintage rhythm & blues to old, and we mean pre-historic rock & roll, hip-hop & almost everything in between.  For over twenty years Hawk-Daddy has jocked country, urban contemporary, classic rock even news/talk and now has found a home on The Boss, playing the next generation of classic rock along with the most off-beat, odd-ball bits of news and information your likely to hear!

J.P.

J.P.

Radio has led J.P. all around the country from the mountains of Colorado to the great plains of Illinois. J.P. has been the Program Director of our AM Station, Sportsradio 1450 for 15 plus years now. And it took a music format that played the Stones, Kiss and Sammy Hagar in HEAVY rotation to get J.P. even consider returning to the music airwaves. And we’re glad he did as J.P. holds onto the 10pm- 2am shift weeknights on the Boss.

Fred Winston

Fred Winston
The Legendary Fred Winston is our Station voice of 96 7 The Boss. Fred was an air personality in Dayton, Cleveland and Pittsburg before landing on Chicago radio in 1971 at the age of 25 as an afternoon DJ spinning the hits on WLS-AM. After almost six years there, he started his trek all across the Chicago radio dial, with stops at WMAQ-AM, WFYR-FM, WCFL-AM, back to WLS-AM, WJMK-FM, WLUP-FM, WPNT-FM, WXXY-FM, and WJMK-FM/WJMK-HD2. Fred is a true Radio Pro and everyone at the Boss is ecstatic that Fred is on our team.

Paul Pachlhofer

Paul Pachlhofer

Paul Pachlhofer was born in Springfield…Missouri…and so is as big a Cardinal fan as Dave is a Cubby.  Paul’s been on the air since ’91 and is one of the biggest local sports fans in town.  While he’s been involved with sports and talk radio for years this is the first time he’s handled the music he grew up so Paul is proud to bring you the next generation of classic rock on The Boss on Sunday evenings.

John Spalding

John Spalding
John Spaulding is another long-time veteran of Springfield radio…some thirty-plus years…who’s as at home with the country as he is with classic  old-time rock & roll and now brings us into the next generation of classic rock every weekend.  He’s a great fan of classic westerns, most notably, The Duke.  And while he may be the only admitted White Sox fan in the building and a dead eye on the bowling lanes he’s also known as one of most intense ball strikers on golf courses throughout the Midwest.
